Yes, social skills are addressed in the Community Participation Skills, School Skills, Vocational Skills, and Independent Living Skills Protocols.

Yes, templates of the scoring grids are available for download for each of the six (6) protocols.

What age range does the AFLS cover?

The AFLS is a criterion-referenced assessment that is designed to be used from early elementary through adulthood.

Who can conduct/administer the AFLS?

Anyone who is actively working with the individual can conduct/administer and score the AFLS. Special credentials are not necessary. It is designed to be used collaboratively across all stakeholders involved in a learner’s program. The AFLS Guide provides information on how to administer and score the assessment; along with section on selecting tasks, teaching, and task analyses examples.

I am interested in learning more about the benefits and how to use the AFLS. Does FLS provide training and workshops?

Yes, both authors provide training, workshops, and consultation at various locations both in the United States and internationally.

Can the AFLS be used as a curriculum guide?

Yes, the AFLS is meant to be a curriculum guide. Following the administration of the assessment program objectives (IEP, IPP, etc.) can be created directly from the AFLS.
