School Skills

There is always progress to be made in an individual’s life, and this is especially true for those who have developmental disabilities and are attending school. These learners need to be active participants in their educational settings, and the AFLS School Skills protocol will take a large step toward independence and successful functioning in these environments.

This protocol covers all age levels of education – elementary school, middle school, high school, college. It also incorporates skills that are necessary in a wide range of classroom environments; for example, special day classes, self-contained settings, inclusion, and regular education classrooms; while taking into consideration the individual’s level of development.

The AFLS School Skills protocol covers:

  • Classroom Mechanics
  • Routines and Expectations
  • Meals at School
  • Social Skills
